About WorldMed Insurance

Traveling or living in a foreign country is an exciting experience. But what if you get sick while away, or find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time and need to be evacuated due to terrorism or another emergency? This is where our international medical insurance can help.

WorldMed Insurance is travel health insurance designed for individuals up to age 64 who are traveling outside their home country for an extended period of time. With medical expense and emergency medical evacuation coverage, you can rest assured that you’ll be protected while away from home for eligible medical expenses.

Domestic health plans may provide limited or no international coverage; WorldMed provides coverage for medical emergencies, evacuations, repatriations and more. Whether you need insurance as a business or leisure traveler, expatriate, work study program, tourist, or church or missionary traveler, our plan offers travel medical insurance coverage to help protect you.

Valuable Benefits

(For Outbound travelers - traveling outside the U.S. - the benefit limit is $50,000.)
  • Terrorism — If the country or region you’re visiting is NOT under a level 3 or level 4 travel advisory, WorldMed offers coverage for eligible medical expenses resulting from those acts. Coverage excludes countries or regions for which the U.S. Department of State has issued a level 3 (“reconsider travel”) or level 4 (“do not travel”) advisory in the 6 months prior to your arrival date.
  • Stolen Passport/Visas— This plan will reimburse you a maximum of $100 for loss, theft or natural disasters for the cost of replacing a passport or visa.
  • Emergency Dental— Up to $2,000 limit (accident); up to $200 for pain relief. Limit is for Outbound coverage/outside the U.S. (The limit for Inbound coverage for travelers coming to the U.S. is $1,000 for accident; up to $100 for pain relief).

*Note on How to Calculate the Hazardous Activities Add-On:
When calculating rates manually, apply the 20% additional premium to the per day rate, rounding to two decimal places. Then, multiply this new per day rate by the total number of days covered to calculate the additional premium required. For example, using a starting daily rate of $1.98 and 30 days of coverage, apply this formula:
$1.98 daily rate x .20 add'l premium = $0.40 per day (round to two decimal places)
Then, $0.40 x 30 days = $12.00 additional premium

Crisis Response

Additional coverage for Crisis Response, including kidnap, ransom, natural disaster evacuation and expenses associcated with crisis response. If desired, this option must be purchased for all travelers listed on the enrollment form and purchased for the entire trip duration.
