What’s NOT covered in this travel insurance plan?*

* The optional CFAR benefit upgrade offers reimbursement when cancelling a trip for any reason, including those listed here.

Trip cancellation due to:
  • Fear of travel (because of pandemic spread or other reasons)
  • Government-imposed travel restrictions
  • CDC Travel Warnings

* To have coverage in the event of any of the above circumstances (or anything else not listed in the plan document, such as simply changing your mind about traveling), consider upgrading your plan with the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) benefit. CFAR gives you the utmost flexibility when you travel. Restrictions and exclusions apply.

Why do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance has always been important. But now it may be more important than ever to protect you and your trip from the unexpected. Travel insurance is not just for big, international trips. The unexpected can happen no matter where you travel, even on a short domestic trip.

As you plan your next trip – whether it involves car, plane, bus or train – consider what would happen if your trip got canceled or interrupted, if you experienced a delay getting to your destination, if your baggage was delayed or even damaged, or if you experienced a medical emergency like an accident or illness while away from home. Buy travel insurance to protect your trip, medical expenses and belongings. It may be the most valuable item you’ll pack for your next trip.

When should I buy travel insurance?

To get the most out of your plan, buy your insurance right after making your first trip payment (whether it’s a deposit, a hotel booking, an airline booking or any other component of your trip).

If you buy this travel insurance plan within 14 days of your initial trip payment you’re eligible for several additional benefits, including the Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) optional upgrade and a waiver of the Exclusion for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions. Even if you miss this 14-day window, it’s important to buy early as your Trip Cancellation coverage goes into effect immediately.
