Trip Cancellation and Interruption Travel Insurance

Travel is expensive, especially tours and cruises. Once you’ve paid your deposit or full payment, what will happen if—

You cancel or interrupt your trip because you or your family member or travel companion gets sick, injured or dies?
Your tour operator, airline or cruise line declares bankruptcy?

Travel Insurance Select’s ® Trip Cancellation insurance and Trip Interruption insurance can provide coverage of your insureds Trip cost when you, or a Traveling Companion cancel or interrupt a Trip for covered reasons.

An early interruption of your Trip can cause you to lose more than your Trip cost, due to the last minute ticket purchase to return home early. If you’ve insured your full Trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions, Travel Insurance Select can provide up to 150% of that cost if you must interrupt your Trip.

A lengthy trip delay can cause you unexpected food and lodging expenses.

Travel Insurance Select’s Trip Delay Benefit can reimburse you up to $1,500 ($250 per day) for your meal and accommodation expenses for a covered Trip delay.

Cancel for Any Reason Coverage

Traditional trip cancellation insurance — like that included in Travel Insurance Select — can cover your trip cancellation for specific covered reasons. That helps in many cases—but not all.

Now Travel Insurance Select’s Cancel for Any Reason changes all that. This benefit, included with the Elite option, lets you cancel your trip for any reason not covered in the standard policy.

It costs a bit more than traditional coverage; but with this benefit, you can be reimbursed for cancellation fees, up to 75% of your trip cost.
