Trip Cancellation and Interruption Travel Insurance
Cancel for Any Reason
Traditional trip cancellation coverage — like that included in Travel Insurance Select — can cover your trip cancellation for specific covered reasons. That helps in many cases—but not all.
Now Travel Insurance Select’s Cancel for Any Reason changes all that. This benefit, included with the Elite option, lets you cancel your trip for any reason not otherwise covered by the Elite option.
With this benefit, you can be reimbursed for prepaid non refundable trip costs up to 70% of your total trip costs (not available with the Basic and Plus options.).
Travel is expensive, especially tours and cruises. Once you’ve paid your deposit or full payment, what will happen if—
- You cancel or interrupt your trip because you or your family member or travel companion gets sick, injured or dies?
- Your tour operator, airline or cruise line declares bankruptcy?
- You need to cancel for any reason, such as:
- Your sudden business conflict
- Your son's unexpected state playoff game
- You changed your mind
- An unexpected delay in processing your Visa or Passport.
A cancellation or interruption of your trip may cause you to lose some or all of your prepaid trip expenses.
Travel Insurance Selects ® Trip Cancellation and Trip Interruption benefits can provide reimbursement of prepaid nonrefundable trip costs when you cancel or interrupt a trip due to a covered reason.
An early interruption of your trip may cause you to lose more than your trip costs, due to the last minute ticket purchase to return home early. If youve insured your full trip costs that are subject to cancellation penalties or restrictions, Travel Insurance Select can provide reimbursement of up to 150% of trip costs if you must interrupt your trip due to a covered reason.
A lengthy trip delay can cause you unexpected food and lodging expenses. Travel Insurance Selects Trip Delay Benefit can reimburse you up to $1,500 ($250 per day) for your meal and accommodation expenses due to a covered reason.
